How To Play Pickleball: Steps To Get Started

The game can be played singles or doubles. If you’re new to the game, here are steps to get started.

Warm Up Before Playing

Before you start playing, warm up with some easy shots. You can hit a few serves, practice your serve receive, or just hit a few easy shots to get your muscles and joints ready for the game. Players who do not warm up are more likely to get injured.

Know The Basic Rules Of The Game

There are a few different versions of how to play pickleball rules, so make sure you know which one your league or tournament follows. If you’re playing in a casual setting, you can use the following rules to get started.

– Two teams of two compete for 21 points. There are no games in pickleball. A match ends when one team reaches 21 points.

– Each team serves two points in a row, one team serves the odd points, and the other team serves the even points. – Each team has two outs per team member. If a team earns two outs, they switch sides and the team with two outs serves.

– When serving, the ball must hit the front half of the serving box. If the ball hits the back half, it’s a fault. – When receiving, the ball must hit the serving box. If the ball hits the back half of the server’s box, it’s a fault.

– There is one ball per side. If a team hits the ball into the net, it’s a lot.

Use Proper Pickleball Etiquette

Pickleball is a great game that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities. Learning proper etiquette is essential to making the game more enjoyable for everyone. Pickleball players should always be ready to serve when it’s their turn.

– Always wait for your turn to serve. If you’re not ready, your opponents will be forced to wait and may eventually call a let.

– Make sure you have both feet behind the service line when you’re serving. If you’re too close to the net, you’ll be given a warning. If you’re too close again, you’ll be given a fault.

– Always give the service a good toss. If you hit the ball flat, you could hit an opponent in the head and be given a warning. If you hit an opponent in the head again, you’ll be given a fault.
